The memorable experience of the Witcher 3 was partly due to its vast and immersive side-quests. Those who enjoyed tracking down a Water-hag to find the farmer’s lost daughter are in for a treat, as Miles Tost, Level Designer at CD Projekt RED has hinted that the side quests in Cyberpunk 2077 are going to drastically influence the character’s path:
“Side-quests are great opportunities for us to tell stories of our cyberpunk world. After all, despite not being a part of the main quest-line, they are still connected to the world and can elaborate on certain parts of it, like the characters”
This notion is also supported by the statement made by Quest Designer Patrick Mills earlier this year:
“Particularly in terms of playtime and in terms of quest complexity. Specifically, I’d even look more at the expansions than The Witcher 3 base game because that’s really where the quest design philosophy that we’re using now came from—it was developed later in the expansions.”
While we are still left in a limbo as to when Cyberpunk 2077 is going to hit the shelves, a deleted Tweet still gives us hope for a 2019 release.
