The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update for the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC will be released on December 14th, according to CD Projekt Red.
CD Projekt Red has confirmed the December release date in a message on The Witcher’s official Twitter account (below). This confirms CD Projekt Red’s pledge of a fourth-quarter release. This is exclusively for the digital version of the game; CD Projekt Red has stated that a physical release date will be revealed later.
The update, which is free for everyone who has purchased the game, according to a press statement from CD Projekt Red, “features hundreds of aesthetic, performance, and technological advancements over the original.” These “include a variety of modifications integrated into the experience, quicker loading times on consoles, support for ray tracing, and many other things.“

The Witcher 3 Next-Gen update will contain all previously published DLC in addition to new material based on The Witcher Netflix series, CD Projekt Red has stated. More information on these integrated modifications and other features will be revealed during a Twitch Livestream early next week.
The game was originally planned to be launched last year but was twice postponed; the current version was initially developed by third-party firm Saber Interactive. In April 2022, CD Projekt Red seized over, although they insisted that the game was “not in development hell.” Given the two prior delays and the approaching end of the year, many people were still concerned even though the Q4 deadline was established back in May. However, it appears like CD Projekt Red will reach its goal.
It would be best to not use your RTX 4090 to play the new update.
