Today Intel announced the specifications and the release date of their upcoming HEDT CPU’s at Computex 2017. Intel today confirmed that the Core i9-7940X will have a base clock of 3.1GHz, Turbo Boost of 4.3GHz and Turbo Boost Max 3.0 of 4.4GHz. The 7960x offers 2.8GHz, Turbo Boost of 4.2GHz and Turbo Boost Max 3.0 of 4.4GHz, The King 7980XE has 2.6GHz base clocks, Turbo Boost of 4.2 GHz and Turbo Boost Max 3.0 of 4.4GHz.
- The 12-core Core i9-7920X will be available from August 28th
- The 14-18 core parts will be available from September 25th
The Clock speed’s of Skylake-x processors are low compared to its competitor, PCI-E Lanes as well and TDP is increased. The Threadripper range is also said to be sporting 32MB of L3 cache across the board, along with 512KB of L2 cache per core, putting the top 16-core chips at 40MB of total L2 and L3 cache.
