Guide – The Best Thermal Paste to Use in 2018

Thermal paste is a thermally conductive substance, usually sold in fluid form, which is applied between a CPU and its cooler, While most first-time system builders understand the importance of cooling in their computer system, a lot of them don’t realize the positive impact that using the right thermal paste can have on the temperatures of their processor. Just as the wrong kind of paste and a bad appliance method can actually worsen the performance so today will talk about best thermal pastes in 2018. What or What Not.

Do You Need Thermal Paste?

If you’re looking to upgrade your processor or build a new computer or just getting high-temps on your current machine then you definitely need a good after-market thermal paste. In the guide , I’ve covered six of the best thermal pastes currently available to help you pick out the right compound for your needs.

Best Non-Capacitive Thermal Pastes:

1. Arctic MX-4 :

Thermal Conductivity: 8.5W/mK .

Type: Carbon Based.

Easy to apply.

8 Years Durablity

USD $5.99 for 4G

2. Noctua NT-H1

Thermal Conductivity: 8.9W/mK

Type: Ceramic.

Good for Overclocking.

Comes w/Spreader

Long Lasting

USD $5.90 for 2.5G

3. Thermal Grizzly Krynout

Thermal Conductivity: 12.5W/mK

Type: Ceramic

Good for Overclocking

Superior Performance but too expensive.

Comes w/Spreader

USD $10 – $13 for 1G

4. Coolermaster MasterGel Maker Nano

Thermal Conductivity: 11W/mK

Type: Nano Diamond based particles

Superior Performance

Long Lasting

USD $9-10

Best Liquid Metal Thermal Compounds:

The metal thermal pastes require a bit more expertise and caution to apply, and that is not just because they are electrically capacitive, Firstly you need to clean your heatsink with isopropyl alcohol.  Then, you need to apply very little paste and spread it evenly with the provided brush.

1. Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut

Thermal conductivity: 83 W/mk

Type: Liquid Metal

Comes w/Spreader

USD $16 for 1G

2. Coollaboratory Liquid Pro

Thermal conductivity: 80 W/mk

Type: Liquid Metal

USD $13 for 1G

Conclusion:

it’s always good to have a high-quality TIM lying around when you’re building your new machine or upgrading your CPU and it’s cooler. Wrong paste can lead to damage and overheating, so be sure to avoid making the wrong choice when you add a thermal paste to your online shopping cart.

If you just want best performance / value thermal paste and asking for long lasting durability then you should get non-capacitive  Arctic MX4.

For Overclocking  get the Noctua NT-H1 because better thermal conductivity than MX4 so it will provide 2-3C less than Arctic MX4.

Those who wish to push their performance to the max get Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut Just be careful and take your time when applying it as they’re electrical conductive, and you won’t be disappointed if you read the guides online before applying.
