Build Guide 2020 – Build a Gaming PC For 40,000 PKR

Breaking into the PC gaming world can be expensive, PC gaming has been stigmatized for being overly priced compared to the popular consoles in recent-years and after all the new-Build A Perfect Budget Gaming PC prices of the hardware these days in Pakistan you’d be thinking that you need at least 100K machine for the decent-gaming and the streaming but that’s not true. PC gaming offers such flexibility and used-market in Pakistan is goldmine. We believe, for the entry-level machine 40,000 PKR is more than enough for those looking to make a gentle foray into the world of PC gaming. In today’s build we’re not just talking specs and blah also we will show you the actual benchmarks as well.

1. Processor:

Intel XEON E3 1245 v2 was launched roughly 8-years ago and still our go-to processor for our every entry-level builds. Since Intel hasn’t made any Major IPC improvements in the last 6-years. This Xeon E3 1245 holds the strong thread performance due to it’s massive 8-threads in the entry-level and It is still faster than 4-core NON-HT Intel CPU’s. World is progressing and things are moving fast. We decided to go for the HT enabled CPU. Don’t Buy 4-Core 4-Thread CPU in 2020 even if they’re from 9th-generation or the 8th-generation.

2. Motherboard:

At certain price-points you may be able to save some money. We’ll be choosing 3rd-Generation / 2nd- Generation Supported H61-Chipset Motherboard for our Build. You can go for the 2 slots motherboard and can save roughly 1000 PKR. You can still run dims at the dual-channel configuration. If you’re lucky you can snag a real-deal buying 4-slot in the 2-slot Price because it’s used-market and every bargain is possible.

3. RAM:

As our build is budget-focused build, you don’t need fancy-rams or maximum gaming advertised RAM. You can save some amount in purchasing RAM as well by purchasing standard or system-pulled RAM. We’d recommend you to go for the 16GB and both sticks of 8GB and install-them at dual channel configuration and make sure the both RAM modules are identical to each-other in timings and the speed.

4. Graphics Card:

This should be your top-priority without any doubt right-now for the bang for buck in Pakistan. RX 570 4GB has no match. The solid performer in the budget. We suggest you to avoid Gigabyte and XFX dual-fans variant because of the thermal issues and durability of the cooling fans rather go for the Sapphire Pulse or the Nitro. Before purchasing this variant make sure you ask the seller for the at-least 20 minutes stress-test.

5. Power Supply:

It’s a tricky task finding a solid-power supply but not difficult one while searching for the power-supply you need to keep few things in your mind, that how much power is required by the system and you also need to check the efficiency rating and how much amps are required by the GPU. If your whole system power consumption is around 400W we always suggest our users to always keep the extra-headroom and go for the 550W-500W at-least and should have 80+ Bronze/Silver Rating. Do not buy the generic-cheap unknown brand supplies.

6. Storage:

As we’re cutting some corners from the motherboard, that means we can invest some of that money in some good solid-state drives (SSD) for the OS Boot and the daily-driver applications for the faster-response time. 120GB would be adequate enough for the Windows and applications.

Also, an entry-level system may get along fine with a single 500GB mechanical drive for the games. You can also expand the storage in future according to your needs.

7.  Tower-Case

The selection of case can be fairy subjective before choosing a case make sure you have adequate room for the air-flow air coming from the front vent to your graphics-card PCB. Depending on your preference there are many gaming-cabinet in market that offers solid-air-flow and has ample room for the hardware but this time we’re going for the basic computer case.

Other Options/Considerations

This machine has a total price of 40,000 PKR (as of writing), depending on your budget you can also snag a XEON E3 1270 V2 that is better than 1245 v2 in terms of clock-speed also you can go for the 4-slot motherboard but that’s not necessary if your budget is strictly tight. There would be no performance loss at-all but you’d lose some perks including 4-dim channel support.
