Grab your ancient B350 or X370 from 2017 and dust it off because AMD has pulled an UNO reverse card with their decision to allow the Ryzen 5000 CPUs to officially work on these old chipsets.
Upon release, AMD was adamant that the 5000 series would only be supported on 500 series chipsets but due to the public backlash they quickly reverted that decision and allowed 400-series chipset to run their newest CPUs.
The AGESA 1.2.0.7 update will finally enable the support for newer CPUs on these old boards.
However, it is important to note that these 300-series chipsets won’t be able to support the entire suite of features that these CPUs can handle including PCI Express 4.0.
